MSE Restore Tool 1.0: Fix Microsoft Security Essentials 1.0

tmp3BD

While i have personally not experienced or got any problems reports with/from Microsoft Security Essentials 1.0 so far, in the 14 machines i have installed it in. There are some reported cases online where the MSE 1.0 installation goes bad and then refuses to start up or even to uninstall.

MSE 1.0 makes a bit of registrations and changes into Windows. So it is never recommendable to force it to uninstall with third-party uninstaller software, unless you know very well what you are doing. The most recommendable thing to do is to try change it back to its initial default state, just how it was when it finished installing the first time. All this without having to restore Windows to a previous backup system image.

To this effect, i had already posted about Fix MSE 1.0 a long time ago. But some say it don’t works for them. So here is an alternative to that as a second choice for the same need:

MSE Restore Tool. v1.0 will change Microsoft Security Essentials 1.0 state back to how it was after originally installed; to its fresh non-customized default settings. By rewriting the original registrations and changes to Windows system and registry made by MSE 1.0.
